Concept and Direction FAYE DRISCOLL
A tangle of limbs and torsos swirls and eddies. Lines of energy ripple between bodies as individuals merge into a single shifting organism. Five dancers become one. That’s where you come in.
This first part of New York dancemaker Faye Driscoll’s remarkable trilogy Thank You For Coming announced her as one of the dance world’s most striking and sought after talents.
As warm and humorous as it is technically exquisite, her choreography is underscored by a humanity that envisions new modes of connection and communication. The borders between artist and audience soften, and theatre’s oft–forgotten function as a shared space is reaffirmed. Both ritualistic and chaotic, this is dance as complex and contradictory as the multitudes it has left in awe.
