In 1995, the Lincoln Center Theatre in New York held the inaugural Directors Lab, and for 25 years they have nurtured the development of theatre directors from across the world. In 2015, the acclaimed lab expanded to Australia with Directors Lab: Melbourne as part of Melbourne Festival.

Like its New York counterpart, Directors Lab: Melbourne enables professional directors to take part in an intensive creative laboratory. Participating directors will share their skills, methodologies and learnings within a community of peers through masterclasses, workshops and explorations.
